Hand-operated food slicers
Hand-operated food slicers are small kitchen appliances operated using your own muscle strength via a crank. The crank is turned to move the blade. That being said, hand-operated food slicers are not inferior to electric models in any way. They are just as capable of cutting a wide variety of foods into even slices. Slight pressure and constant feeding are all it takes to obtain slices of the same precision produced using an electric appliance. Coordination of the various hand movements is the only thing that may take some practice. Some people may initially experience difficulty with feeding the material to be sliced into the blade with the left hand while simultaneously turning the crank with the right hand.
However, the crank itself is very smooth and can be operated with little force. Various models are offered so everyone is sure to find the right appliance for their needs. The crank is available with a premium beech wood handle or a black plastic handle. Both fit comfortably in your hand and are easy to operate.
Naturally, a big advantage of hand-operated food slicers is that they don't use electricity, so they can be used anywhere with total flexibility. There is no need for an outlet so you are free to choose where you want to work with the hand-operated food slicer. This brings economical slicing to your kitchen with very little maintenance.
The flexible guide bracket for the food to be sliced improves the discharge of large, hard foods during slicing. It can be folded up or down depending on the type of food. To slice large, harder foods such as a big loaf of bread or an ample piece of bacon, leave the guide bracket in its position directly behind the blade. This has the advantage that the food that has just been sliced will not interfere with or block the movement of the crank. To ensure that slices of smaller, softer foods, such as a thin salami or cheese, land on the plate, fold the guide bracket for the food to be sliced up and simply let the sliced food drop off the circular blade without it.
The hand-operated food slicer has four suction feet for a non-slip and solid footing. Just push the appliance down slightly on the work surface to engage the silicone suction feet, ensuring that the hand-operated food slicer stays firmly in place during slicing.
While a hand-operated food slicer fulfils the same function as an electric food slicer, it is not powered by a motor but by a smooth crank.
With a hand-operated food slicer, you place the food to be sliced onto the slicing carriage and push it towards the blade. Meanwhile, you turn the crank that moves the blade.
The advantages of a hand-operated food slicer are that it needs no electricity, so it can be used anywhere. With its timeless design, it is also a highlight in any kitchen.
With a hand-operated food slicer, you can perfectly slice everything from vegetables to fruit to bread, meats and cheeses. However, you should not use it for frozen foods.
The hand-operated food slicer can be readily used in any kitchen. Since it does not use electricity, it is also suitable for use anywhere else that foods need to be sliced.
All parts of the hand-operated food slicer should be cleaned with a damp cloth each time after slicing so residues that can spoil do not build up. From time to time, all removable parts such as the circular blade should be cleaned under warm running water.
